The expressions (without talking) on the other hand work nicely right now, and that's why on the video we have the narrator do most of the talking, and Carmen only does the expressions. Maybe add Shader model 4.0+ exclusive features (what you see here is shader model 3.0, because we've worked a long time on Ps3, and Xbox360 hardware we can pull off nice results on SM 3.0) And the list goes on. And they loved our program and gave us a very good deal on the development license. Had we hired engineers and programmers to try and write our own webcam tracker it would have ended up taking a lot longer and probably costing more. Don't hold it against them guys, it is awesome tech, and fully deserves the price, those people deserve to be paid for the work they put in.
Faceshift webcam license#
A production license that allows us to distribute the product is going to cost us significantly more. We have secured a development license from our technology partners. We don't love legal stuff, but we'd be naive to think we can avoid them entirely. We don't want some legal loophole or a patent troll to crush your (and our) dreams of having a super awesome digital alter ego. We will occasionally need a lawyer's counsel when performing various commitments to partners or distribution platforms. Getting hardware to set up a small compatibility lab (it works for our configuration, but what about a zillion configurations out there?) Infrastructure for the import / export and needed tools so that anyone can build their avatars Build up the avatar library, but after we have settled on the Mark 1 avatar specs. What you saw in the video took a lot of takes to get right (look at the "Commander Fluffo" part in the video, does it look right to you ? It doesn't to us). We are just scratching the surface with lip sync.

We need versions of the interface different for beginner and advanced users, and we need to figure out the best way to build a personalized capture profile. The interface for special actions ( such as breathing fire as a dragon) The interface to tune virtual puppetry support The interface to tune the capture parameters needs to be friendly We need improved voice processing (past just some pitch changer) is going to take many programing days to figure out. Still that's a pretty walked path, we don't expect surprises there, but it needs to be done.
